Meet Dr. Lindsay James

Your Child's Appointment

During your child's appointment, Dr. James will assess your child and provide an individualized care plan. She will carefully explain details regarding your child's treatment plan and answer any questions.

Dr. James will work at your child's pace, take breaks if needed, and explain what to expect during each step of the process. She will also talk to your child about their at-home dental hygiene to help them develop longterm healthy routines.

Our Pediatric Services

Our services can be tailored to meet your child's oral health needs.

  • Preventive care including oral hygiene and dietary guidance

To help prevent issues from developing, children should see the dentist every six months for a cleaning and checkup. This helps to catch any problems that may have developed so that we can treat them early.

At each appointment, our dentist will review proper dental care techniques with your child, including brushing and flossing instructions. This ensures that your child's teeth are being cleaned well at home too.

  • Restorative care including fillings and sealants

Even with thorough brushing and flossing, kids sometimes develop cavities and require restorative treatments. Our goal is to properly preserve and care for the health of each tooth, and that includes baby teeth.

To help prevent cavities in molars and premolars, we may apply a dental sealant. These teeth have deep fissures that can be difficult to clean out with a toothbrush. Sealants cover the tooth so that plaque and bacteria aren't able to build up in them.

If your child has developed a cavity, a dental filling may be required. The dentist will remove the decayed material from the baby tooth and fill it to prevent further decay.

  • Tooth extractions

A tooth extraction may only be performed in cases where the tooth is too damaged to save, or if it is negatively impacting the overall oral health.

  • Mild sedation with nitrous oxide

We offer mild dental sedation to help children feel more comfortable during long procedures and to calm anxieties.

Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide can help reduce anxiety, increases the pain threshold, inhibits the gag reflex, and makes it seem as though time is passing more quickly than it really is.
