Our Halifax dentists use fillings to repair cavities, cracks and fractures, and restore a tooth's function and structure.

What are Dental Fillings?

Fillings can be used to treat cavities, cracks or chips in the teeth.

Composite fillings can closely match the colour of your teeth, making it a good choice for fillings that may be visible when you talk or smile. Amalgam fillings are very strong, making them less likely to break in comparison to other materials.

Inlays & Onlays

Some cavities can be filled with a single pre-made restoration. These restorations are called inlays and onlays.

Dental inlays and onlays are used to repair molars or premolars that are too damaged to support regular fillings, but not so damaged that a crown is necessary.

Inlays are used to repair cavities in the pits and fissures of a tooth. Onlays repair damage to the cusps.
